These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Intermodal Insider (the “Site”), operated by Intermodal Insider (“we,” “us,” “our”).
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Who we are and what we provide
Intermodal Insider publishes logistics and intermodal industry information, including news, research, explainers, guides, and operational commentary. We may also provide tools, templates, and conceptual resources related to shipment visibility and tracking (for example, terminology, milestone/event explanations, exception libraries, and performance-oriented content).
We are not a carrier, broker, freight forwarder, customs advisor, or legal/financial advisor unless explicitly stated on the Site. You remain responsible for your operational and commercial decisions.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a legally binding contract to use the Site. If you use the Site on behalf of a business, you represent you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.
3. Your use of the Site
3.1 Permitted use
You may use the Site for lawful purposes, including reading, sharing links, and using our content for internal reference, subject to these Terms.
3.2 Prohibited use
You must not:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to access non-public areas or interfere with Site operation (including scanning, probing, or testing vulnerabilities without authorization)
- Use automated means to scrape or harvest content in a way that burdens the Site or violates robots/meta restrictions

- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation

4.2 No professional advice

4.3 Tracking/visibility concepts
If the Site discusses tracking milestones, exceptions, ETAs, or visibility methods, such information is conceptual or based on public/industry sources and is not a guarantee of real-world shipment status. Do not use the Site as the sole source for time-critical or safety-critical decisions.
5. Intellectual property
The Site and its content (including text, graphics, logos, and design) are owned by or licensed to Intermodal Insider and are protected by intellectual property laws.
5.1 Limited license
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site for personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms.
5.2 Restrictions
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, create derivative works, publicly display, or commercially exploit our content without prior written permission, except where permitted by law (e.g., fair use) or expressly allowed on the Site.
5.3 Trademarks
“Intermodal Insider” and associated marks, logos, and branding are our trademarks or trade dress. You may not use them without permission.
6. User submissions (if applicable)
If the Site allows you to submit content (comments, contact requests, guest articles, corrections, tips, or other materials), you agree:
- You will not submit unlawful, defamatory, abusive, or infringing content
- You have the rights necessary to submit the content

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, you grant Intermodal Insider a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and publish your submission for Site operation and editorial purposes (for example, publishing a correction, quoting a tip, or displaying a guest author bio).

The Site may link to third-party websites or services. We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
8. Advertising, sponsored content, and affiliates (if applicable)
We may publish sponsored content, partner materials, or affiliate links. Where applicable, we will aim to label sponsored content and disclose commercial relationships in a reasonable manner. Your dealings with advertisers or partners are solely between you and them.
9. Disclaimers
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INTERMODAL INSIDER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SITE OR CONTENT.
To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for claims relating to the Site will be limited to the amount you paid to use the Site in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100 if you paid nothing, unless a different limitation is required by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Intermodal Insider from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Site
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your infringement of any third-party rights
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time if we believe you violated these Terms or if needed to protect the Site, users, or our rights. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute terms).
13. Changes to the Site or Terms
We may modify the Site or these Terms at any time. We will post updated Terms on this page and update the effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
